Music has played an important role in my life. My dad is a minister of music for a church in Trussville, Alabama, and my mom and both of my brothers are crazy-talented as well. I like to say I'm the least talented in the family. Really, I think it's that I was never willing to put in the time and effort necessary to master the craft. But, I digress...
I listen to music, literally, all day at work. I have a Spotify playlist that I play over and over with songs ranging from "Jolene" to "Let It Go" to "Do What U Want."
One newer song I've added is called "It Ain't Yours to Throw Away" from the ABC drama, "Nashville." Say what you will about the show (I love it!), but the music on there is awesome.
Here's a clip of the song from the show that will give you a glimpse at some of the drama too...
The song is not only beautiful (that falsetto!), but the words are good too. "What if you're just a vessel and God gave you something special...It ain't yours to throw away." SO GOOD! It originally aired four weeks ago, and I've probably played it 1000 times since then. I just can't get enough.
Some of my other faves from the show are "Black Roses,"A Life That's Good," and "Boys and Buses."
What music is moving you these days? I love finding new songs to add to my playlist!
